Arloghe is a (very) minor Chaosian noble born to House Locklann. Locklann concerns itself with magical and metaphysical research, experimenting with any Power they can learn. A roguish member of his family, he takes the Locklann spirit of exploration to travelling as well, researching the effects of Shadow on magic (he's a theorist only; he does this by using his Logrus sight) and shapeshifting. An articulate writer, his texts on thaumatology are used in beginning magic classes here and there throughout the Courts of Chaos.
Part of Arloghe's fame within the House is that he has been the first brave enough to journey out to a Broken Pattern and attempt to walk it. He gained additional fame for succeeding. Until then, the Locklanns could only theorize about how Broken Patterns worked and from where they drew their power. Now they have an in-House expert... or at least a consultant that can test theories. Not only is he a valued member of House Locklann, but a valued asset as well.
Arloghe is not afraid to use his own body as a resource. He has fashioned keys out of fingerbones to escape imprisonment, changed his facial structure to steal away unseen, shifted his bone structure and internal organs slightly to fit into otherwise-unfittable places, hidden small objects just under his skin, and developed variations on his watery Avatar form so that it is sustainable in unusual circumstances.
Kabalarians say this: Your first name of Arloghe makes you extremely generous. You have a bubbling, spontaneous nature and a happy-go-lucky outlook which helps smooth the pathway of life. Also you are sympathetic to the needs of others. You are interested in art, music, singing, dancing, and anything of an artistic nature, and could become a very fine performer. Your spontaneous expression stands you in good stead during arguments or debates, though you are perhaps too outspoken and inclined to sarcasm. A very real weakness of this name is lack of system and order. If this name is used a great deal you would find it extremely difficult to carry through and finish the things you start. You would also find it easy to make promises in an effort to make others happy--although not so easy to keep them. You would spend your money recklessly, seldom reckoning whether you could afford to be so generous. The weakness of this name can cause weak ankles, a strong desire for sweets or pickles (which causes skin or liver troubles) and a desire to eat too quickly.
| If you ran into Arloghe in his demonform, you might see something like this. If you stuck around, that is. | : : : |
No skin. No muscles. No tendons. Only faded, greying bones. The creature before you, standing half again as tall as a man, peers with the empty sockets of its large, semihuman skull; it has a larger jaw with more teeth, and sharper. Its neck is also slightly bigger -- a bit longer, serpentine. Its great ribcage is empty, the lower ribs ending in sharp points. Arms still seem powerful, despite the absense of muscle, and end in a mass of elongated clawfingers that look too large for its hands. The legs bend like the hindlegs of a beast, first forwards then backwards, then end each in six jointed tines that collect into a sort of pronged hoof, or splay out into a flatter, radial foot. When it hisses, it does so with an airy, hollow tone -- an almost-whisper, the sound of wind over the remains of the dead. | : : : |
